Rheumatic Fever and Infective Endocarditis: A Review

Aims: Gather relevant literature, understand and expose the mechanism by which Rheumatic Fever can trigger Endocarditis Method: This is a narrative review, where following descriptors were used as source of research: Endocarditis; Fever; Bacterial in Scielo, PubMed, LILACS, BVS MEDLINE databases.
 Methodology: Results: It observed that rheumatic fever mainly affects children adolescents. The immune response triggered streptococcal infection results production antibodies cross-react with tissues body itself, leading to inflammation damage. cross-reactivity an important characteristic fever. one main complications affect mural endocardium frequently heart valves. pathophysiology both diseases existing epidemiological data show alteration blood flow near valves damaged endocardial lesion migration bacteria present circulation.
 Conclusion: Patients affected fever, close relationship development infective endocarditis. From literature it clear how conditions are related require attention because their complications.
